Meet…Katie Sanderson
What’s your role at Holden Smith and how did you get into a career in law?
I’m the branch manager at our head office in Denby Dale, and I also work in the conveyancing department. I have always had an interest in property so when an opportunity arose for me to get into this as a career, I took it. I also have family who work in law, so I also wanted to follow in their footsteps.
What are we likely to find you doing on a day-to-day basis?
Usually, you’ll find me speaking with our clients and dealing with their sales and purchases.
What kind of problem might you solve on a typical day/week?
In the conveyancing team, we’re regularly checking over property titles and resolving any issues that may arise in the sale or purchase process.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
Being able to help clients to buy their dream homes. As a homeowner, I know how exciting it is, so it’s great to be a part of it for our clients, too.
Tell us what makes Holden Smith different.
Holden Smith is a modern law firm. The technology and apps that we use help us provide an efficient service to our clients.
What three words do you think (hope!) your colleagues would use to describe you?
I would like to think, supportive and friendly… but also loud!
What are we most likely to find you doing when you aren’t at work?
Walking my dog (Nala) – which usually leads to a pub trip also!
What’s your favourite spot in Yorkshire and why?
Newmillerdam Country Park – it is local to where I live, and I spend a lot of time walking there. I also spent a lot of time there when I was a child but also during lockdown. (again, it has a great pub!)
What’s your party trick?
I can touch my nose with my tongue.
