Holden Smith Pledges Support to The Principle Trust

We are pleased to announce that we have pledged our support to some of Yorkshire’s neediest families by becoming a patron of The Principle Trust Children’s Charity.

The Trust provides respite breaks to children who are underprivileged, disadvantaged, disabled, have life-limiting conditions, or who have experienced poverty, trauma or abuse.

Launched in 2011, The Principle Trust Children’s Charity was established by Ilkley businessman Mike Davies, MBE. Since then the Trust has raised over £1m, developed a portfolio of holiday homes and provided respite breaks for almost 5,000 children across the Yorkshire region.

In 2023 the charity launched ‘Food for Families’, a £23,000 per annum initiative to help tackle food poverty by providing an entire week’s supply of food and daily essentials to families taking a respite break provided by The Trust.

Mr. Davies said: "We are delighted that Holden Smith has joined The Principle Trust as a patron; they are a dynamic firm with an exciting future and this new partnership further solidifies The Trust’s plans to expand services across the Yorkshire region."

Jessica Mckenzie, Head of New Build at Holden Smith added: "We are excited be joining The Principle Trust as patrons. Our commitment to the Trust will help them to extend their services to dozens more families every year."

The Trust owns and operates six holiday homes; two in the Lake District and four near Blackpool and is generously supported by patrons and fundraisers across North and West Yorkshire. The Trust’s 100% donations policy ensures every penny raised from events and marketing directly benefits children and their families.
