What is your role at Holden Smith and how did you get into a career in law?

I' joined Holden Smith in March 2023 as a Director and head of our Corporate & Commercial team.

What are we likely to find you doing on a day-to-day basis?

A typical transaction will see me in a situation where a smaller business is selling out to a bigger business - but there’s lots of variety in corporate law and no two days a really the same.

What kind of problem might you solve on a typical day/week?

My job involves lots of work to devise a structure that works for both sides involved in the transaction, so I’m often working on any issues to help my clients reach that result.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

I get a real buzz getting ‘the deal’ done for my clients – so it’s always rewarding getting a significant deal over the line.

Holden Smith is like a breath of fresh air; a young, dynamic, but very experienced team that has no baggage to weigh it down.

What three words do you think (hope!) your colleagues would use to describe you?

Friendly (hopefully), can’t think of any more! Maybe ‘tea addict’?!

Dry Stone Walling!

What’s your favourite spot in Yorkshire and why?

Huddersfield, of course!

I can carry four pint glasses without dropping any beer.
