Rebecca Cronshaw, solicitor at Holden Smith

What is your role at Holden Smith and how did you get into a career in law?

I am a solicitor specialising in conveyancing, and I’m also the branch manager at Holden Smith’s Halifax office. I started my career as a junior solicitor and worked my way up, but many of my family either work in or are connected to the legal profession, so I guess it was almost a natural path for me to follow!

What are we likely to find you doing on a day-to-day basis at Holden Smith?

In a word; conveyancing! My usual day sees me progressing cases, providing our clients with updates  on their cases, overseeing exchanges and completions of property purchases – and quite a few emails.

What kind of problem might you solve on a typical day / week?

Ensuring we meet the deadlines required for our clients is something I do daily, and I have to work quickly and efficiently to ensure all their requirements are met. We pride ourselves on excellent service, so meeting deadlines is a top priority.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

Getting good feedback or a thank you from a client always makes it worthwhile.

Tell us what makes Holden Smith different…

The fact that we use up to date technology to enhance the client experience, but do so without becoming ‘faceless’ as its important to us that clients have a good relationship with our team.

What three words do you think (hope!) your colleagues would use to describe you?

I asked them to answer this question! Caring, funny and diligent were the only nice ones I could write down!

What are we most likely to find you doing when you’re not at work?

Enjoying lots of long walks which usually lead to the pub!

What’s your favourite spot in Yorkshire and why?

It has to be York. I went to university there and really enjoy going back.

What’s your party trick?

My famous Cher and Britney impressions!
